Zero-emission zone

A zero-emission zone is an urban area where only zero-emission vehicles, such as electric or hydrogen-powered vehicles, are permitted to drive. The aim is to improve air quality, reduce CO₂ emissions and create a healthier living environment. Businesses and transport operators must adapt their vehicle fleets accordingly. Local authorities are introducing these zones gradually, so that businesses have time to switch to zero-emission vehicles and thereby reduce fuel consumption.
